What is the difference between "cast" and "forged" wheels?
The production and processing methods are different, and the use characteristics are also completely different. Cast rims are made by pouring molten aluminum into a sand mold, cooling to shape, and then machining (deburring, trimming, and polishing).
Forging is to use a steel mold, put a heated and softened aluminum block into it, stamp it, and then machine it after cooling. Castings are easy to mass-produce, and the forging process is complicated and expensive. But because the aluminum block is constantly stamped during the production process, the molecular structure of the forged wheel becomes very tight after it is formed, so it can withstand high pressures.
